  • 2/11/17 – Moto Vendors of Phnom Penh

Here’s another one, because I like how unique each one is. I feel like Phnom Penh has a very entrepreneurial spirit. However, for better or worse, this mean everyone is selling something.

    January Update – I’m Here

I still remember the strange sense of vertigo as I landed in Phnom Penh at 12pm. I navigated my way through immigration and out to a waiting teammate who brought me to the flat I had rented. We carted up my luggage to the 5th floor and I sat down on my bed, in the…

  • 1/17/17 – To the Market

Phnom Penh has many markets, each with its own flavor. Here’s a glimpse of the Russian market. Though Cambodia has more western style stores, you could call this the Khmer Walmart. Here I could pick up anything from dried fruit to auto parts to some new cloths.

  • 1/16/17 – Around Town

Getting to know the city has been fun. I’ve been choosing to walk most places to get to know the streets better, but a tuktuk is never far away. There’s not a lot of pedestrians here though; I see a motor bike in my future soon!

    August Update

At 9,000ft surrounded by the crisp clean Rocky Mountain air, for the first time ever, five staff* and their families sat down at the same table to have a meal together. There was a sense of unity and commencement as the Cambodia team made small talk and just began to get to know one another.…

  • June Update

    June Update

Only 6 more months to go before I board an airplane headed for Phnom Penh. While I contemplate the idea of finishing my time here in Colorado Springs well, I have begun focusing my time on the relationships and community I have built here over the last two years. School Out-reach and VBS Over the…

  • Moving to Phnom Penh

    Moving to Phnom Penh

Last month our Cambodia office director, Chad and EMI CEO John and their families traveled to Cambodia to make the final city selection. After meeting with over 25 missionaries and ex-patriots living in Cambodia, it became abundantly clear that Phnom Penh was the best choice. With only 8 short months left in the US, the…
