  • 2/2/17 – Tut tut

Just a little out of season rain. For the most part it just made the day more humid, but tonight should be nice. I enjoyed watching the ponchos come out and life continue on as usual.

  • 2/1/17 – Domino Effect

Yes, that’s corn and mayonnaise on my BBQ chicken pizza. We thought we were safe ordering from Donimos. There is a special requests box in the delivery app, but how were we to know to ask them to leave the mayo off? I promise it tasted better than in sounds or looks.

  • 1/31/17 – Front Step

What is a fairly quite street during the day, becomes a lively vegetable market every night from 5:30 pm to 2:00 am. Thankfully the sounds don’t usually carry up to my 5th story windows.

  • 1/30/17 – Veggies

Today in language class we learned basic fruits and veggies and how to speak with the vendors in the market. After class my roommate and I practiced in the local market by our house. I have a long way to go, but I’m encouraged by the little words here and there I’m starting to pick…

Four may be a crowd, but it’s the perfect number for a tuktuk. Thankful for teammates to explore our new city with.

  • 1/27/17 – I Heart Cambodia

Cultural transition is funny. I wouldn’t say I’ve hit culture shock, but I feel the effects of the stress of it all. I wear out sooner in the day and I have to constantly remind myself that it’s “ok” to slow down. Even though everything is different, it’s also familiar, and I find that I’m…

  • 1/26/17 – New Faces

I’m still adjusting to the new faces I see around me everyday, just as my tongue is adjusting to the new sounds I am forcing it to make. But, while it still make take me a second longer to recognize a new Khmer brother or sister, I’ve alway been able to see the God given…

  • 1/25/17 – Caption This

Now it’s your turn. How should I caption this one?

  • 1/24/17 – Anything Goes

From traffic laws to the amount of stuff and/or people you can put in one tuktuk…
