Community and Thanksgiving

It is already November. Just one more month till baby joins us!

I have had a busy fall at EMI; preparing for our November issue of Inside EMI which is our CEO and annual reporting edition, with lots of coordination across EMI to gather data and prepare graphics. We also had our new fellow join the marketing team, Raquel. I am honored to have her join the creative team as graphic designer and visual communicator and look forward to being her professional mentor over the next year.

In September, the Global office was blessed to be able to take a staff retreat together during our annual meeting time. A good portion of the Global team works remotely to support our teams around the world, so this is a special time when everyone gathers in Colorado in person to connect and plan for the year ahead.

As you know, Sdam has been looking for a job for most of this year and we are happy to announce that he finally found something that will work for him. He is a merchandise stocker at a local Asian grocery store. His coworkers and managers are a very diverse team, and he is learning a lot about communication and interpersonal dynamics. He is slowly getting to know his teammates and making friends. Sdam also started in-person GED classes this fall. He recently took a practice test for the math portion, and we were encouraged by his progress.
