February Update

February has proven unpredictable.

The month started out with 60 deg days and some nice hiking with my friend and coworker, Vicky, and ended in snow days and below freezing. Personally, I like the capricious weather. It keeps me on my toes. But the best surprise of the month was getting to reconnect with Setan and Randa. Setan is the president and CEO of TransformAsia, the ministry EMI partnered with this time last year on my first project trip. They are also both survivors of the Khmer Rouge. The South East Asia Launch (SEAL) team met with Setan and Randa last Friday as part of the beginning of our preparations for the scouting trip we will be taking in April. As one of our future office objectives is to “integrate into the local community; impact the country’s design & construction industries; grow capacity for regional reach” it is imperative that we begin to build relationships with local ministry leaders like this. As an added bonus, Randa shared with us pictures and updates on some of the kids we met last year, and I look forward to seeing again in April.
