Home Assignment

This year I spent December and January in the US on home assignment. I was able to spend time with family for Christmas, visit friends in Colorado and Kansas, and catch up with churches. During my time at home, as I answered many questions and shared about my first two years in Cambodia, I found myself thinking and sharing about all the ups and downs I have seen. Hopefully more ups than downs. My joy this past year has been getting to know the Khmer staff in the office and the friendships that have developed there. We had a great first term of interns, and we are excited to welcome three new interns this coming year. Throughout my travels this Christmas, I was continually reminded of the love and support have from my sending community in America. Thank you so much! I could not be here in Cambodia without you!

Mariah, Reatrey, Lydeth, and Seoyun: Our fall term of interns.

Today, during orientation, we asked the new interns, “what do you want to learn from your fellow interns this semester?” As I listened to their answers, I was reminded how much I need to stay in this mindset for myself. I want to continue to be a learner here in Cambodia. To learn from my teammates, from my friends at church, and from the community that God has placed me in. Here’s to being a learner in 2019!
