I took off from Omaha, NE last Tuesday and landed in Christchurch, NewZealand about 24 hours later. It was a beautiful 80 degrees when I left and a cold and rainy 39 when I landed. I just keep reminding myself that I’m making up for the winter I missed last year. It is just starting to snow up on the mountains and the ski resorts will open in about a month. I’m super excited to cross “snowboard in another country” off my bucket list. While I am also excited for the friendships I will soon be making, it’s never easy going through the transition. I already have a few friends on base, and that is a great comfort. Next week will start orientation week, and then I will start my duties in the office. Then in about a month the snowboard students will arrive and things will really be crazy. I would appreciate your prayers during this time as I begin to get to know all these cool new people.
