2020 has hit the ground running. In January we welcomed our 6th group of interns. They are through orientation and already settled into the office. Then, in February, I was able to join another office project trip. This trip was a little different. Through collaboration with our director, Chris, and long-time volunteer Jeff, both of whom are civil engineers; we held our first Civil Design Practicum. We invited two young design professionals from America, and three young professionals from Cambodia to travel to various project sites around Cambodia and asses their property. We mostly looked at water issues, clean water, storm water drainage, and sewage. In addition to the young professionals, we had 3 staff from our EMI Cambodia office, myself included. It’s always such a privilege to follow teams like this and capture what EMI is doing in S.E. Asia.
