Anna Update

A lot of my time over the past few months have been working on several projects for our EMI Global office. Every year, in the summer issue of our digital magazine, we publish EMI in Numbers, our annual report on project, people, and giving for the previous year. To support this publication, I design and animate the info-graphics that accompany the issue.

In other news, for the last few months, I have had the opportunity to volunteer one day a week helping out a fellow CMA Marketplace Ministries friend and his video production studio. Josh opened Ruang Studio about two years ago with the aim of influencing the media industry in Cambodia for Christ. He trains Khmer in video, photography, and audio production and also hopes to begin producing original Christian children’s content in Khmer. This summer, while Josh and his family are on home assignment in America, he asked me to step in a bit more to help out as producer for a big client. For about a week and a half, myself and two Ruang staff joined a group of US Soy farmers on their visit to Cambodia to document their trip and their work here supporting local agriculture.

Sdam Update

Last month Iris Phnom Penh welcomed our first team since covid. The team was visiting from Australia, and it was such a blessing to our team and the communities we work with. They joined out kids programs with dramas and crafts, adult discipleship and distributed out food packages, painted desks for our kids center, a soccer game between the youth and the team, a time of worship and prayer together, and lots of laughs! Iris also celebrated the rescue of two children out of dangerous situations and into safety.

Last week in our weekly discipleship time we were learning about the various ministry gifts given by the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12. As we went back to work, I remember looking at our team and being amazed how I could already see this at work. Some of our team teach each week in out in the communities, while some of us visit with the families to pray and encourage them, while still others of us work behind the scenes to keep the ministry of Iris working and moving forward. I thought, wow, we all have the same Holy Spirit, but look at how He has gifted each one of us. He has done it.
