Team Work

Anna Update

In January the team met for our yearly “staff days,” a two day off-site meeting to plan and make goals for the year a head. EMI Cambodia then hosted our first full volunteer project trip in almost two years. We are so thankful that the boarders remain open and easy for travel.

However, in February most of the office was hit with COVID. As it swept through the office, each of us taking turns to isolate at home, those left in the office all had to pitch in to pick up the slack. I’m happy to report everyone is now healed and back at work and there were no major delays on any of our projects.

Project trips, playing games, and even attending a few weddings. 2022 has been a busy year so far.

Sdam Update

At the beginning of March The Mission Worldwide had a staff retreat to nearby Kep. Sdam and the team had a good time relaxing and getting out the of the city for a few days. We worshiped together, played games, visited the beach, and ate lots of good sea food. It was really cool for me to be able to meet and spend time with Sdam’s coworkers.

As assistant director, Sdam remains quite busy at work. As the most senior Khmer staff, his job often included calling and meeting with various government ministries and taking meetings with the other NGO’s in Cambodia that they partner with. He also provides assistance to his social work team when they get stuck on different cases. He is also currently training one of his staff to step into more of a leadership role on the social work team, so that Sdam can focus more on other areas of the organization.

Grace and Peace,
Anna & Sdam
